Muse says that its new album, The 2nd Law, will be "very diverse." There is a jazzy song with brass instruments and a song with dubstep influences, which you can hear a clip of in the album trailer in the replies. The dubstep is limited to that song only, though.
Haha, they were serious about the dubstep. Not sure how I feel about that.
I'll try to take the music for what it is, although I'm not a fan of their more recent material.
I love that their approach to dubstep includes actually playing it with instruments. Nothing wrong with programming those types of beats, but it must be a challenge to get that to sound authentic live.
Haven't checked out anything from this album except for the trailer, so I'm kind of reassured to hear that it won't be dubstep except for that song. Not really upset with them broadening their horizons musically, I think they know what they're doing enough that they can pull it off. Even if they don't, I've gotten enough music from Muse that I can handle a bad album lol
