if you actually think about it, he was a really influencial person on music in the past couple years. he pretty much brought screaming to the mainstream and i'm sure with that, his band was a gateway into so much new music for a lot of kids. once again, RIP
James is a pretty great writer, I can honestly say i've enjoyed every single column he's written over the past couple of months. This was a remarkably personal take on something that, as James himself said, shouldn't strike him that personally, but it was honest, well written and a great tribute to Casey.
Very well done. I think that's what gets me most as well is that Casey, despite never meeting him, was fundamentally just like every one of us in his love for music, etc, and it's tough to say "that could be me."
very well done. ive enjoyed all of his columns personally, but caseys death even though having never met him has affected me a good bit as well, and for no apparent reason. i think more or less, its because of everything he stood for and gave to people who didnt know him. thats what i truly have come to love about him as a person. he can or has affected you, without you even knowing him personally. that speaks volumes about him.
