The New Year will start out with a resounding bang for modern metal pioneers Killswitch Engage! The band has announced an early winter headlining tour with Every Time I Die, The Dillinger Escape Plan and Parkway Drive. With rotating direct support slots between envelope-pushing The Dillinger Escape Plan and Every Time I Die, as well as newcomers Parkway Drive (whose debut release was produced by KsE guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz), the lineup is a solid mix of shattering metal. “We're going to start off 2008 touring with bands that I've wanted to go on the road with for a long, long, long time,” drummer Justin Foley declares. “Not only are they awesome guys and good friends, but great bands with wicked live shows - come out and join the party!”
Killswitch Engage was recently awarded gold RIAA certification for their 2004 sophomore Roadrunner release The End of Heartache. Continuing to reach out to audiences, the special edition of their latest release As Daylight Dies holds a steady presence with the breakthrough track “Holy Diver.” With a secure place in the top 15 on the Active Rock charts and a firm presence on You Tube with over 1.1 million views, “Holy Diver” has proved an encompassing success for the band. Additionally, the track “My Curse” has ushered in attention as a featured track in Guitar Hero III, spiking overall album sales of As Daylight Dies.
