Not quite sure how a Paul McCartney soundtrack would fit into that though

Huge fan of Bungie and Paul is a legend so I'm intrigued.

I just reread their contract with Activision, they made a deal for a series of 4 sci-fantasty action shooters. They might also be making a Marathon game after the release of the first game, as allowed in the contract.

Yeah I saw that but still, seems like even then it would be different in some way

I mean part of it too is that I don't get why Bungie would want to abandon Halo to work on other projects if the other projects are something very similar. Either way I'm excited

Yeah I know what you mean, maybe just in terms of story they wanted to work in a new universe.

Keep in mind this guy has been doing all kinds of different stuff: classical, blues, noise (kind of) so there's no reason he can't make video game music awesome.
