Owl City Talks Mark Hoppus Collab

Posted by - 05:26 AM on 07/12/12
Owl City recently spoke about his collaboration with Mark Hoppus on one of his new songs, "Dementia."
From the Article"It's definitely Blink-influenced," he said. "I've been such a fan of what they do, what Blink's done since junior high. I'll have the CD on in the car, just randomly trying to memorize the lyrics, and that song will come on and I'm like, 'Oh, that's Mark Hoppus.' It sounds like an older B-side, rarity Blink track. It's so cool. It's such an honor."

I like the song and all, but this sounds nothing at all like a blink b-side.

I think it sounds like a song off of Neighborhoods. I enjoy it a lot

Good song. I can hear a bit of blink influence, not to the extent that he describes but as much as he can get away with in an Owl City song

Mark Hoppus and Adam Young are two of my favorite people in music, and when I saw that Mark was featured on a track, I slightly shit my pants in excitement. Definitely a good song.

I think it sounds like something Mae could have done... but then I might be the only one in the world. Must be cool for him to get Mark on one of his tracks, regardless of whether you like his music or not

It sounds like Mae with Mark Hoppus. I don't like Owl Shitty but I do like that song.

Yea. I didn't even see you said that. You're not the only one that hears the similarities.

Glad that he got the chance to collab with Mark. Dementia is a great song.

I can agree with the Mae comparisons...they're there.

Also, it sounds like it could have been a song from either Neighborhoods or any AVA album. I hope there're a few songs kinda like that on the new album.
