Took the past year off after completing my first two semesters, partially because I didn't (and still don't) know what I was doing major-wise, partially because of personal and family bullshit. Going back this coming semester, same school. Anyone else do this? How'd it go?

I took five years off, before finally knowing what I wanted to do. I suggest one thing...don't waste your time dipping your toes into a ton of stupid classes if you don't really want to do that. Also, make sure you have money saved up. This shit is expensive.

i'm kind of in the same position but i only took last semester off. i thought it would kill my motivation(if i still had any left) which it did for a bit, but then it made me realize i need to get my shit together and stop fucking around. just started an online summer class and i'm going back in the fall so we'll see how this goes

I've never gone through this, but I feel that a year off isn't too bad where you'll have trouble doing the school work. Just stay motivated and make sure ya get your shit done, and I'm sure you'll be fine :D

So, do you now know what you do want to do major-wise? Just out of curiosity.

I had to miss one summer semester and one real semester due to money issues. It just made me appreciate school more and solidify that I love what I'm doing

Went to three different schools. Only to get my associates. Have no idea what i want out of life. Take your time man.

I have one idea that I'm feeling relatively good about, and a few more that I'm keeping in the back of my mind in the event of plan A not working out. My motivation levels feel miles above where they were my last semester. It's definitely nice to know by experience that there's not a whole lot going on for me if I'm not going to school.

I took one year off in the middle of my four years because my heart really wasn't into it and the same thing happened to me I appreciated it a lot more and made me more focused on my career goals and interested in the material I was learning. With that said I'm currently unemployed so the Bachelor degree hasn't paid off for me yet.

My parents aren't paying for my education so when it comes down to it they don't really have a say. Fortunately they've been pretty supportive throughout everything. Telling my grandparents was the most heartbreaking thing though.
