bring a backpack. stop by a grocery store on your way to Warped Tour, buy 2 bottles of cold water. drink one while you're waiting in line because you'll get hot while you wait. put the second one in your backpack (don't open it! they won't let you bring it in, if you do.) then, when you're officially inside and you get thirsty, drink it, and re-fill it throughout the day. most of the venues should have places to get water. |
This year they let you bring any sized water bottle in even if it was open (my friend drank half of hers before we got in), but it was probably because it hit 100 that day and they weren't going to risk having people passing out because they took their waters away. Water was also $3, which was cheaper than previously I believe. Honestly, I'd pay even $10 for water if I had to. Rather be $10 poorer than jeopardize my health.

02:25 PM on 07/15/12 | indie sounding lyrics here this is awful. it sucks because im sure it could have been prevented as well, maybe by drinking lots of water and if she had friends there they definitely should have done something if it looked like she was in bad shape. then again, unfortunately you cant even tell until its too late.

02:26 PM on 07/15/12 | It's very unfortunate. Today hasn't been going too well for the tour--cancelled it but now are saying 5PM everyone is allowed to re enter since the storm has passed. All I have to say is I'm thankful I decided to skip out Toronto Warped Tour this year! I wouldn't of been too happy if I was there.
It's not the first time this sort of incident has happened at the tour but it looks to be as if some sort of medical condition was another reason.
I know last year was brutal weather. The heat was like unbearable. I tried to stay indoors in between bands sets when I could.
RIP. | | |

02:27 PM on 07/15/12 | It's kind of disgusting, how high they price water.
|
02:27 PM on 07/15/12 | Storm today flooded areas of the Warped venue too. They had to stop performances and get everyone underneath the actual Molson Amphitheatre. Here's a shot from the stage from a friend.

Last I went, I took 4 bottles of water. They made me open all the bottles of water and they threw away the caps. So I had to either chug them (not possible) or throw them away. It's shit like this, man.

02:31 PM on 07/15/12 | People really need to realize the hazards of the tour before they attend. Heat related issues are serious business. Such an unfortunate occurrence.

They allow sealed bottles in now. Which is nice.

02:32 PM on 07/15/12 | That is sad to hear,Everyone needs to try their best to keep hydrated at warped.

02:35 PM on 07/15/12 | $4.50 for fiji water isnt that expensive for buying it at a concert. shit is expensive just in the grocery store alone.
warped has gone up and beyond in many ways to help the water situation..there's cooling areas, shaded areas, water refill areas, and water everywhere. and if you're about to pass out or need water, someone will give you a fucking drink. all humans aren't scumbags. if someone needs a drink i'm sure a fan or a security guard would be more than willing to help someone.out.
that being said obviously my thoughts are with the person.
and water is still more expensive at a Yankees game than Warped :)

02:40 PM on 07/15/12 | ***NICKEL CREEK*** <--GO LISTEN NOW That sucks
I don't understand how people don't keep themselves hydrated, though. I know it costs too much money for bottled water and beverages, but they are always available and there is always free water to refill your bottle with (At the Gorge in Washington, at least).

02:44 PM on 07/15/12 | a friend of mine was on her period and was about to pass out at my date last year. Someone promptly came up to her, offered her a monster (eh, lol), and pointed us to the nearest refill station. They took care of her pretty well and she was good to go for the rest day. 'twas scary, though .-.
