ExtraThat's right - LCD Soundsystem isn't on the list. And yea - Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, and Rihanna all are. The point is that I love pop music. And though is hardly a pop album, it does make me (and everyone else, really) dance. Thus, it's number one. If you don't have it (which isn't too unlikely, seeing as how this is Absolute Punk), you need to go pick it up immediately.

Ah, These Guys Tried Hard Too

1990s - Cookies
Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare
Architecture in Helsinki - Places Like This
Beirut - The Flying Club Cup

How 'Bout EPs?

extraYea, I didn't really listen to too many of these this year.

Most Disappointing:
1. Interpol

Best Remixes:

+1: Britney Spears - "Gimme More (DJ Eli Remix Feat. Amanda Blank)"
25. Chromeo - "Needy Girl (FrankMusik Remix)"
24. Justice - "The Party (Feat. Uffie) (L.A. Riots Remix)"
23. Yelle - "Short Dick Cuiz (TEPR Remix)"
22. Soulja Boy - "Crank Dat Soulja Boy (Cousin Cole Remix)

3. The Teenagers - "Homecoming (Gentlemen Drivers Rave Remix)"
1. Kanye West - "Get 'em High (A-Trak Remix)"
1. Rihanna - "Umbrella (VNDLSM Remix)"

extraSome of you have read my blog Panda Toes. Those of you who have are better people than those that haven't. Whatever, there's still time for you abstainers to change.

Anyhow, this is the official Panda Toes countdown. I'd change some stuff around on it if I could, but my boy Kagan (who writes with me) had to have a bit of input. So it goes.

Best Live Shows:

1. Daft Punk, Ratatat, SebastiAn, Kavinsky - Sports Arena, Los Angeles - 07/21/07

extraI have a list of other great shows, too. Uffie was awesome of course (see what I did there, Uffie fans?) as were a million other gigs I hit up, but we all know this is the only one that really mattered.

Most Anticipated For 2008: (in no particular order)

The Cool Kids
The Glamour
The Teenagers
The Ting Tings
Uffie
Vampire Weekend

ExtraThe Cool Kids are everyone's favorite Chi-town rappers (Kanye who?), the Glamour are tearing it up in Milwaukee, the Teenagers are France's latest great product, Vampire Weekend's Blue CD-R is magnificent, and Paul Tao refuses to share the Ting Tings' demos with me. Oh yea, and Uffie's full-length will be the only thing I listen to all year long after it drops.

good on you for bringing some flavor to AP. i disagree with a handful, but i like pretty much every group on your 25 tops, sans britney.

i also hate new young pony club!

overall, dope lists.

Yeah, I'm going to say what everyone is probably thinking: Britney? What the fuck?

But, your the only staffer to include Calvin Harris, so, for that alone I love your list.

That Justice record is solid. I also thought LCD Soundsystem were overrated. Great list (with the exception of a few choices on there).

I thought Greg Dona was a chick! I don't really know why, considering that Greg is clearly a guys name. I think the "Dona" part threw me off because I always read it as Donna! haha
