Yeah, The Matches were probably one of the most open bands out there but they did have a formula that worked for them. I just love that he's getting to try out whatever he thinks is great, which is why I love Mania so much. 80's inspired pop rock done the way it should be.

I'm glad to see him exploring other genres. I do enjoy Mania because it is a step outside of his box and was executed very well, and that fact alone lends itself as to why I don't want Shawn to drop the band. The Matches are so high on my list of bands I want to reform (maybe first) that I probably just find it hard to like Maniac as much as I should.

Shawn Harris is such a boss. Before The Matches broke up I asked him who they were thinking about recording their next album with. He asked me if I knew any good producers. I told him I didn't know the difference between a C chord and a Z chord. He said he played a Z chord once.....and it was epic.
