I just got called to set up an interview at Regal Cinemas, and I have this idea in my head that it would be awesome to work at a theater, but I've been looking aroud online and people say the job sucks, don't get many hours etc. I was hoping someone on here could tell me if this is true and if you work there, do you like it?

I've never worked at a movie theater and I probably never would. I've heard that the pay sucks, but I guess that depends on the company. The only perks I could envision would be free or discounted movies. Other than that, it seems like an awful place to work, and a ton of late nights.

Well, of course the pay sucks. When you're looking into small part time jobs, most of them are going to be minimum wage, or at least near it... I don't know who would ever think otherwise haha. It's your average high-school kid, part-time job. Gonna be the same at most retail stores, grocery stores, fast food chains, etc.

Be happy that you got an interview somewhere. It doesn't hurt to get paid does it? Also surprised that there hasn't been a mention of Aurora yet.

I worked at a movie theatre in high school, it was an easy job, money sucked, part time hours what more can you expect unless your applying for management there

My friend worked there and was pretty meh about it. He got enough hours but the people sucked. Seems like a regular job.

Just quit after being an assistant manager at a theater for two year. it kinda sucks but you should take it.

I was EXACTLY your age when I worked at the movie theater in my town. And let me tell you, that shit suuuuuucked. It paid shit, the hours weren't that bad actually, AND one of the few perks of the job is free tickets. But its not worth all of the gross shit you will come across, the nasty, rude, disgusting customers, and the overall hatred of humanity you will form. My advice to you? Don't do it unless you absolutely have to.
