I rannnnn to try to catch a song at Warped a few years ago, but was greated to a surprise: Sierra Kusterbeck singing. She sounded awesome, but I didn't get to hear Craig do any Chiodos, haha.
Last Warped set I saw Chiodos at, Jag from A Skylit Drive was doing guest vocals, and if it's any indication of how bad Craig was doing - Jag was out-singing him. And we all know about his live voice.
I dont even have any of their albums on my comp anymore, but I cant deny im rather excited for new stuff. Imo, neither all's well or bone palace were completly amazing. I could prob take songs from both and make one solid album. However, I loved thermacare.. I was really excited to hear their third album with craig.
I think Craig is an excellent marketer, but I don't think he's a particularly good singer. Outside of a few songs, I've always had a really hard time getting into much Chiodos pre-Illuminaudio; Craig's voice is always too shrill and too off-key for my tastes. I'm really bummed that the band's reunion with him will probably be the one thing that gets them back in the spotlight and the one thing that makes me lose interest in them.
does this mean thermacare, will recorded a third time?
Technically it would be a 4th time.
1. Thermacare demo
2. D.R.U.G.S got the rights to the lyrics - turned it into The Only Thing You Talk About
3. Chiodos got the rights to the music - turned it into Stratovolcano Mouth
Sounds like Craig has allergies... same story here. Usually he's extremely good, in any form, live. I am going to Dirtfest on Saturday, and hopefully he is up to par.
