Interested to hear Plain White T's take on the Ramones.

I don't get why animated films have good soundtracks if the target audience for the film (kids under 13)hasn't heard of/doesn't care for any of the artists featured on the soundtrack.

However, this has the potential to be a great soundtrack.

but seriously, even besides her, this sounds pretty great

This movie came out when i was a kid already.

interested for the passion pit song, not so much for the others. well, maybe the robert smith song as well.

but what you're doing here is assuming that animated films are meant for kids.

go check out films like $9.99 or Mary and Max if you want to see that some animated movies are not only NOT directed toward kids, but films that kids should stay away from

as for Frankenweenie, it should be kid-friendly, but it's Tim Burton! it'll be an adult film of some sort, most likely. plus, this soundtrack could be a great way to introduce the kids into some solid artists

Karen O talked to Rolling Stone about the song. Sounds like a winner:

"My music inspiration came out of the same era of B-movie fright film references sprinkled throughout the film. I went in the direction of exotica and calypso stylistically because it's quirky, good vibes music of that era, and when you throw in a Theremin solo, it's a marriage made in heaven. I remember Beetlejuice introducing me to the genius of Harry Belafonte's calypso record, so I wanted to give a nod to that, too."

I agree with all of that, however imo, Disney is pushing it towards kids. Family Guy and Futurama are animated television shows. But are they for kids? No, not at all; they're pushed towards people like you and me. I just think that an 8 year-old would rather listen to Bieber than Passion Pit and Karen O. My two cents.

I listen to Karen O's WTWTA soundtrack regularly.
