that drum build up part that starts at 1:30 is so overdone in so many bands
correct me if theres better terminology to use rather than the uneducated tongue "drum build up"

It wouldn't be a build up, build up suggests that the drums would gradually be getting louder (crescendo). It's more or less like a music "breakdown"...no not a breakdown like this:
but rather a break in the music and all that is left is bass and drums. It's an elements tons of hardcore (in the traditional sense) use.

I love you for being someone that understands what the term breakdown is. I actually recently recall pointing out a breakdown of a song to a friend who replied with "Haha i'd love to see what else you consider a breakdown."

thank you, i definitely knew build up was incorrect for the reason you said, just didnt know what to use in place of it.
