such a good album. The Lottery is a great fucking song. it's a good medium between their first 2 albums and Blue Sky Noise

I absolutely love this album and can't believe that it's getting a decent amount of hate in here.

Blue Sky Noise was the album that made me truly fall in love with this band, but this album solidifies them as one of my favorite bands. I enjoy OLG and Juturna greatly also, but BSN, to me, featured the band's most memorable songs. Violent Waves truly has a little bit of everything from their past three albums. I would even argue that this album showcases the band's musicianship the most. The rhythm section is killing it, and the guitars are phenomenal as always. Songs like Hitman, The Lottery, I'll Find a Way, My Only Friend, Phantasmagoria are brilliant. This album will be high up on my end of the year list. Am I a bit biased? Sure, I love Circa. But I fail to see how any fan of the band's previous work could be truly disappointed by this.

It's a good album but the second half falls short compared to the first one, was a bit disappointed by how abrupt the last song ends as well (and i dislike that little instrumental ending). it sounds like a cross between On Letting Go and Blue Sky Noise

So far I'm into it instrumentally speaking, but I feel like Anthony Green's vocals and melodies are kind of lacking. Granted, Blue Sky Noise is a really hard record to follow. When I first heard Juturna I felt like all the songs kind of ran together, and all sounded similar vocally. But you can see their progression through On Letting Go to Blue Sky Noise. Violent Waves seems like a step back. Not necessarily bad though, Blue Sky Noise was just too good.

You guys aren't giving this record enough time to sink in. You gotta let it simmer a bit.

You really can't spend $5?

its not the money itself its that every release that they put out on a label theyve been very enthusiast about "fuck the label pirate this album" giving q giant middle finger to the people who invested thousands of dollars in them. now that theyre doing the indie thing they are suddenly upset about piracy like going indie is some magic switch. you reap what you sow. they campaigned against the labels so frankly i dont think they deserve anything leas than the same, im nit saying i want them to fail but it might be a nice humbling experience if thw record underperformed and they realized exactly what they werw doing to the labela that helped them to were they are

I love the album. It definitely brings more of a Juturna vibe. It sounds almost like it should have been a follow up to Juturna rather than Blue Sky Noise.

They didn't "campaign" against the label. They submitted tracks from VW to Atlantic, and the label basically told them that they wouldn't give them as much money to work with since BSN didn't make enough profit. So Circa peaced out.

I just don't think I like Circa all that much. I'll just stick with TTN.
