I feel like this has been answered before, but people who live near/have visited NYC, what are essential things to do/places to go?

artichoke pizza, central park, shake shack, look up bowerypresents.com for some good shows. Bar None is also a nice cheap bar to go to if you're looking for some good drink deals.

I agree with the highline its very cool, also eat some pizza, get some street meat, walk down 5th ave, go the the village and just walk around. top of the rock, or empire state building is cool but its so damn expensive. ummm go to strawberry fields, or anywhere in central park. Im trying to think what i do for fun, but i really dont do anything besides work, and hang out on the weekend...

you can kill hours just walking around central park. i highly recommend stopping by china town for lunch if you like asian food. also i really liked walking around in the village and soho. i don't live in NYC, but i went there many times while living in CT for a year.

Def check out Chinatown and eat at on of the restaurants if you like Chinese. Plus, you'll be within walking distance of the Brooklyn Bridge, the 9/11 memorial, and wall street so you can check those out while you're at it. If you're a fan of baseball, def go to a mets or yankees game. Eat some pizza and check out Stage Deli like a block over from Ed Sullivan Theater

I live right by that Diner, its cool on the outside, but the inside looks nothing like seinfield, and the food isant that great and there cash only haha

Yea, I've never been to NY, so I don't know anything about it, but it would be cool to at least see it if given the opportunity.
