Favorite Gentlemen Tour: All Get Out Live Session

Posted by - 10:10 AM on 08/27/12
Today we've got something special from our friends on the Favorite Gentlemen Tour. All Get Out recently shot a video with Brad Vander Lugt of La Dispute, David Williams, and Joseph VanSpronsen for a new live session series. Head to the replies to watch the behind-the-scenes view of the filming shot by Jonathan Corley of Manchester Orchestra.
From All Get OutWe had the pleasure of getting to shoot an acoustic session with our friends Brad Vander Lugt of La Dispute, David Williams, and Joseph VanSpronsen while we were on the way to our show in Lansing, Michigan to play at Macís Bar.

We loved getting a chance to do this with Brad, Dave, and Joe and when he told us his vision for this project we were onboard. The Huss School where we had the chance to shoot the session is an amazing non- profit in Three Rivers, Michigan. We would love for you to please take a moment to visit their website (http://www.cultureisnotoptional.com/space/) to learn more about the projects they are doing in the area as well as ďLikeĒ them on Facebook by going here.

We will be posting the sessions on our Facebook page when they launch as well as sharing more of the Sessions as they become available. We canít thank Brad enough for giving us the opportunity to do this and we are looking forward to sharing them with you!

Our friend Jonathan Corley of Manchester Orchestra shot this video as we were getting ready to go through one of our new songs for the sessions being filmed by the crew. We hope you enjoy this little preview of this session!

[Below] is what Brad had to say about his vision for the session and the ones to come in the future...

From Brad Vander LugtBasically, what we're trying to do is create a cohesive piece of audio/video that serves not only as a unique outlet for the artist, but also as a glimpse into the creative process that the artist takes part in. We pick a location, bring the artist there, and encourage them to re-imagine existing songs. The hope is that this environment influences the outcome, and that the locations sonic space adds something really special to these reworked songs.

I'm a firm believer that one's surroundings have a massive impact on their creative output. In a way, this is an experiment of sorts; throw some people together in a new place and see what happens.

All Get Out was the first band we thought if when we started brainstorming for this session. Dave and I have gotten to know Nathan and Gordon really well from a tour together last spring and had no doubt they'd be able to roll with this concept. The guys got to the school, we set up, tried some different versions of songs, and left with an incredible piece of art.
