Now I don't know if it's the bands BS-ing, or if Salt Lake is genuinely a great place for bands to play, but I hear this from bands while on stage quite often.

I've been to two free Anberlin shows in Utah within the past year, and Stephen said that the band was told they could do one free show anywhere in the country, and they chose us because they love it here.

Anyone else hear that a lot from bands?

Anytime I go to Italy, bands say those are the best and craziest shows. And they really are. Italians are fucking crazy.

But bands I listen to rarely come to my city, and when they come, its' really nothing that special.

Pretty sure Jared Leto says the exact same thing at every show... a couple years ago this was brought up. Can't find anything on it now.

And yeah, I thought it was pretty normal anyways for them to say that type of stuff. "THIS IS THE BEST SHOW SO FAR FOR US ON THIS TOUR" and what not.

Bands say it about Philadelphia all the time. I believe it about a quarter of the time

I've heard New Found Glory and Less Than Jake say it about New Jersey, but I figured it was probably true. Punk and ska have a pretty big scene here.

I don't think bands are trying to lie when they do this. They probably just get so fucked up they forget other cities exist.

The east coast usually has pretty intense crowds. I really believe the best crowds are in Boston, Philly, Jersey, and Texas out west.
