Even as I delve deeper into Sub Pop (along with SST, Twin/Tone, Dischord, etc) I still believe this was Nirvana's magnum opus.

Pear Jam have one solid album front to back and a handful of other good songs.

SST bands are where it's at.
Of course, two members of Pearl Jam -- in an earlier band, on Sub Pop -- were the first to coin the term "grunge" on a record sleeve/insert. Just a fun fact. Nirvana were always more of a punk band but Sub Pop loved its marketing so lumped them in with the lumberjack grunge groups.

my sister was born the same day this album came out
To think, two things came out that day that men (and plenty of women) all over the world have loved.

don't you wish kangaroos were the same way
Um... no? Anyway I was referring to Nevermind, of course, as well as The Low End Theory by A Tribe Called Quest. Sorry for any confusion.

wasn't on SST records. SUB POP, brah...
I'm aware, just wanted to throw another "grunge" band in the equation. Mudhoney was Sub Pop.

The Low End Theory is the holy Grail of hip-hop.
I still prefer Nation of Millions but it's definitely up there
