|Hint: Have a band you'd like to see interviewed? Tell us.|
|The following is a mini interview of generic questions that we posed to all bands that wanted to answer:|
All She Wrote
1. How did you get your band name?
"All She Wrote" came from a lyric in the song "King Creole" by Elvis Presley.
2. How did this band get started?
We were all mates before the band formed, we all absolutely loved music and decided it was time to do something with it. We luckily enough all played different instruments, so forming a band came pretty easily. We all had similar music tastes as well, so we clicked well and had an understanding of what we wanted to sound like and achieve from the beginning. We recorded a few songs late 2011 after playing some gigs and realised that we could do a lot better. We recorded our latest single "Weathered" mid 2012 and that's when things started falling into place. we recently started production on our debut EP set for release in December/January, hoping for a lot of press attention
3. What bands are you influenced by?
As individuals there's a broad range of influences, each member has a different preferred genre which we take influences from in our music whilst writing. However, these are some bands that have influenced us all as a band over the past few years; Young Guns, D.R.U.G.S, The Blackout, Bring Me The Horizon and Lostprophets.
4. If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
Young Guns and Elvis, they have both been a massive influence on us as a band, and we've always dreamed of playing with them.
5. Best food to eat on tour?
Pot noodles, no doubt. We practically live off these especially when recording!
6. Why should people listen to your band?
We believe we're different as we've tried to incorporate a number of different genres into our music. We don't aim to be like any other bands. We aim to try and create our own unique style by writing out of our comfort zone and challenging ourselves. We want people to enjoy our music and be able to relate to it.
7. If you could be any athlete, which athlete would you switch places with?
Usain Bolt, end of. He's the bollocks.
8. If you won a Grammy, who would you thank?
Our mums, dads, pets and friends!
9. If you could change something about the music industry, what would it be?
We'd stop people from illegally downloading music they like and actually buying the record as its hard enough for bands to make money these days without fans downloading their music. Most fans don't realise the amount of money bands have to spend on recording, equipment or touring. Also, we wish bands would stop giving each other hate and start supporting each other or offering constructive criticism rather than pick out the negatives in a band. We also wish people would judge bands on the music they write and not the way they look.
10. Memorable tour experience?
Playing a charity gig with a bunch of bands that were completely different genres to us. We weren't expecting anyone there to watch us or like us. In the end we played to a really good reception after an awkward beginning and the amount of people at the front watching us had doubled by the end of our set.
11. What does AP.net mean to you?
The first time we ever saw AP.net was when we saw them with All Time Low in the studio and we've then checked their website since, looking at new things going on with bands and checking out new bands from there.
12. What is your favourite song to play?
We enjoy playing our latest single "Weathered" the most live as its always the one that the crowd know better than others. It's a fun song to play as well and it's always better when the crowd reactions good.
13. What is your vacation spot of choice?
We'd all love to go to America, preferably New York. The music festivals in America just seem insanely good at times!
14. What music reminds you of your childhood?
We have variations from stuff such as Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Kaiser Cheifs all the way to Busted (even S Club 7 unfortunately).
15. If you could have any super power, what would it be? Why?
Probably all the spidey powers Spiderman has! We're pretty jealous of him.
16. Any pre-show superstitions or rituals?
We don't really have a pre show rituals, we just sit, play a couple songs from the set acoustic, but for good luck we always bring our toy mascot.
17. What is something that most fans don't know about you?
We like to think we are amazing at football. Well, we try to be!
18. What is your assessment of the current state of radio? Do you think it's a place where your band could flourish?
There are far too many 'pop' music radio stations. Given the right radio station, we believe it could have a very positive impact on our band. However, it is a big shame that so many radio stations feel the need to play mainstream stuff now.
19. What do you like to do in your spare time?
We all enjoy going to gigs, going out, playing football, writing music and covering songs at band practice!
20. What kind of hidden talents do you have?
We're extremely good at being late for anything non related to music. We're pretty organised when it comes to the band, but anything outside of that and we're terrible and one of us is always late for something (normally the Drummer). We don't really have any hidden talents, except the fact that our singer can fake fart, but that's pretty much it!
