A teacher at the school I'm observing at was telling me how he is either going to rob banks, become an assassin, or sell meth to make ends meet.

This show sounds too much like Weeds.

it's very Weeds-like, in a dark comedy and more drama than comedy setting. It has many similarities but also many differences

right before he died, it got almost robotic

yup, that's what makes it such a good show

Not the best episode, more dramatic less action, but the last couple of minutes were great.

So I guess that's pretty decent for an AMC show.
