Fucking Walt. I'm watching Hazard Pay for the second time, and I just realized how much he influences Jesse enough to break it off with Andria.
I honestly don't think he was being all that manipulative. Sure he benefits from Jesse breaking it off with her, but his advice was really solid and ultimately Jesse had full control over his own actions. I didn't see any real manipulation in it outside of the fact that Jesse automatically went to the most horrifying thing he did in killing Gale and realizing that would be an inexcusable action to try to justify to Andrea. Sure Walt kind of undercuts Jesse when he explains how he was feeling, but Walt is a greedy man and has a scorn for Mike and his hazard pay, so he is of course not going to be a very empathetic man after having to pay the legacy cost for Gus' and Mike's men.
In the long run, I think it was actually beneficial to Jesse because Andrea won't have any affiliation with Walt, and likely escapes any endangerment that comes with the meth game.
hot damn that would have made for an excellent season 5 promo over the more spoiler heavy promo's AMC went with. It would have been nice to see Walt killing the two dealers in sequence tho, don't understand why they went that way.
