Press ReleaseNew York, NY – October 10, 2012 – Since releasing their EP Dead Languages earlier this year, the Boston, Massachusetts-based quintet FOR SLEEPING OR JUMPING has been keeping busy on the road performing and paying visits to radio stations around the country.
Wedging themselves into the CMJ Loud Rock Top 20 chart last week, a major milestone for any band let alone a group that remains unsigned, the members of FSOJ are elated but far from satisfied, says drummer Taylor Pile, "We are beyond excited about the response Dead Languages has received. We have such a deep respect for all of those that have been paying attention, listening and supporting us, the best part is... we're just getting started."
In other news, the group has been selected to perform alongside seminal metal act PRONG at this year’s Metal Insider CMJ party on Friday, October 19th. The party will take place on ‘The Star Of Palm Beach’ Rocks Off boat cruise which departs from Pier 40 – West Houston Street and the Hudson River in Manhattan. Brazilian metallers EMINENCE are also scheduled to perform. For ticket info: http://www.ticketweb.com/t3/sale/Sal...34&pl=rocksoff

Produced by RYAN SIEGEL (Glassjaw) with BEN WEINMAN (mastermind behind the DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN), Dead Languages finds the group wildly experimenting with moods, momentum and melody, multiple times within each song. It’s radical and unpredictable, as “Beardrops” and “Law Blog” swoon from a blitzkrieg assault to a slow, almost Helmet-like rigidity, while “Bone of Contention” and “Persia the Dog” distort and twist throughout. Meanwhile, the title track builds from a warm psychedelic haze (think Sabbath’s “Planet Caravan”) into a harsh and brutal finale. It’s a violently smart assault on the senses, and one more than equal to the best work of the band’s major influences.
