The only song I'm not familiar with is Oliver's Army. The rest sound like wonderful covers paying tribute to the originals with Bayside's distinct style. Glad its called Covers Volume 1, because that implies there could be more volumes in the future. Wonder if this will be a genre thing?
I really hope they keep up with the covers. More bands should do covers of songs they grew up with, were inspired by, or love. It really gives you greater appreciation to see a band not only pay tribute to artists that have helped shape their sound but also showcase the unique sound of the band as it twists the original song into something that can be appreciated differently. It also is a great experience for fans to keep up with influences of the bands they currently listen to. I personally have been finding myself listening to a lot of late 80s and early 90s to get a better picture of what inspired a lot of the artists I listen now and what elements really stand out today that were used back then.
