as someone who found out about him through eric clapton and other blues guitarists i was actualy very EXCITED when i heard the record and heard that he was not taking the "bluesman" approach every song. i think it makes the record way better that he didn't try to "save the blues" or anything like people were hyping him up. he made a record, instead, that will get a lot of people to like a blues musician and keep the genre moving forward.
