i wish the initial idea of doing a Emery acoustic album (with Devin briefly returning to the band to play on it) wouldn't have been scrapped. i'm excited to hear it
I'm not sure I understand what you're saying. I don't see a problem with it.
I think between that comment and saying "two frontmen", he's saying that it sounds like the reviewer is talking about Toby and Devin, not Toby and Matt.
I like it, Emery has always had a softer side. They routinely played acoustic sets and I believe even recorded an acoustic ep before. The first time I saw them at Cornerstone 05 was an acoustic set actually.
As I recall it, they played a couple of acoustic sets at Cornerstone 2006 too.
Maybe I got my years mixed up or maybe they did it both years, but hey you could have been at the same show as me since I went both 05 and 06 and worked the main Cornerstone cd merch booth in the tents.

It's definitely possible. I spent a fair amount of time in the merch tent every year I went.
Not a fan of Emery, other then a few of their hits. But I was pleasantly surprised by this album. I think that this review is a little harsh and the lower score may keep some people from giving it a listen. I would definitely say it was worth the $8.
