his vox are pree cool, better than most of those generic post-fob pop punx bands or or the even worse blink-182 wannabes.

Everything I have read makes it sound like he's not really going solo. He will still play with the guys who play with him in JM now, its basically a name change from JM to andrew mcmahon. This way he can make new music under his name but still throw in a few JM and SoCo covers. I don't think this is a really big deal overall.

As long as he does something, fine by me.
