It's the first book by Gaiman I've read so I can't say I have much perspective, but generally speaking I really enjoyed it. Fun and engaging fantasy, with some more "adult" elements than I expected.

That and Anansi Boys (another by Mr. Gaiman) have been on my shelf for awhile...I just haven't been in a fantasy mood as of late.

You might want to check out the synopsis for Good Omens, it's more of a comedy, and imo one of the most brilliant plots of all time. The book just didn't click with me as I've heard it had for many others. Most of my favorite authors write very dark fiction, and Gaiman seems to toy with dark fiction and turn it into a comedy, though I feel he leans a little more towards an optimist. Seems like an interesting author, I'm curious if he's just not for me or maybe I just started with the wrong book (Seeing as how he wrote it with another author, Terry Pratchett.)

Tl;dr I want to read more Gaiman at some point

Updated. I really liked The Marriage Plot, makes me want to read Eugenides other books, but for now I'm back to Bukowksi.

Currently reading Pulp (Charles Bukowski, 1994)

hmm, well, in general; it's a coming of age tale, so books such as The Art of Fielding. There's references to Salinger's "Franny and Zooey" and that causes some similarities. I just finished it and need to put a little more. thought into it, so if I think of more, I'll get back to you. hope that helps.

it's a little slow for maybe like 50-60 pages, but it picks up. it's a great story about 3 post graduates and I may have liked it more because I'm close in age to the characters, so even though it takes place in the 80s, I was able to place myself in the story very easily.

5. Pulp (Charles Bukowski, 1994)

Updated. I liked Pulp, but I don't think it was his best. It was nice to read when you know that he was basically on death's door and this book is kind of like his way of accepting that, but it just didn't do it for me as his other books had.

I'm currently reading Oh, Play that Thing (Roddy Doyle, 2004). This is my 3rd time starting it, I just haven't been able to get into it as much as Doyle's other novels. But, it's part of a trilogy, so I'm trying to finish it, haha.

Never posted my list. Actually just made a list a few minutes ago. Quite proud of my 2013 so far.. but more so that I'm reading a book a week. Gonna aim for like 50 by the end of the year. Taking literature classes definitely helps though.

2. Catching Fire - Suzanne Collins
3. The Giver - Lois Lowry
4. Perks of Being a Wallflower - Stephen Chbosky
5. The Taming of the Shrew - William Shakespeare

Well technically I suppose so, haha, but I was speaking in particular of Dan Simmons "The Terror" which I found to be one of the most terrifying books I've read to date.
