Crazy/great news. I dig Mackelmore quite a bit but the fact he was able to do this independently is pretty darn impressive. Guess there is a market for white kids who want "Real Hip Hop"™ beyond the Youtube-sphere after all. And for all the people who think he's bad, let's be honest, this is much better than Hopsin going Top 40. That dude is insufferable.

Best song on The Heist. But honestly that song is way too controversial to be a top 40 hit. It shouldn't be controversial but unfortunately that's the world we live in.
I'm not very big on this genre but The Heist blew me away. If you're looking for more to listen to by them check out 'can't hold us', 'same love' or 'a wake'.
And it will be the only thing people remember about him, unfortunately. None of his other songs sound like this and people will drop him pretty quickly.
