It's nothing more than a bullshit term for a sense of entitlement. Someone can't help who they're attracted to, regardless of how they're treated by the person whose feelings are unreciprocated. "Friendzoned" mislabels the rejected party as an undeserving victim because they can't blame themself for being unlikable; that would only further bruise their ego. The most this fabricated limitation does is serve as something to bond over with other self-pityers who have also been "friendzoned".
