When does everyone think we'll hear a new song? I'm thinking late February/early March maybe. I can't really tell how far they are into the recording process by their updates.

All they've said is they'd have something out by the end of the summer. I'm guessing a similar timetable to War Paint, so we'll probably hear a song in May or something.

Do they have the original drummer back?

If not, my interest in this is halved. And that's conservative. The drums killed the last record.

What about them killed it for you?

Seriously, I never had even the slightest problem with the drums on War Paint. But I agree that the songwriting on that record was, on the whole, a big step up.

You liked it better than RFTS?

I did, albeit narrowly. I think RFTS has the better highlights, but that WP is the more consistent record.

I like war paint more than rfts but that has more to do with emotional attachment than the music itself

Yep.

There are 2 really good songs on it.

There are maybe two songs I don't love. Haha

"Parachute" and the re-recorded "Good Things" have always been the least great parts of a great record for me. Still like them, but they were never the songs I would seek out, unlike say, "Siren" or "No One's Gonna Need You More."

I concur. "Siren" is probably my favorite song on the album.

I could never pick between those two, but they're both up there with "Never Feel Alone" as my favorite songs this band has done.

The "misleaded" line in "Miscommunication" still makes me mad, but I love the bridge so much that it makes me like the song regardless.
