As much as I hate being "that guy" who comments on a cover of Radiohead, I think she is missing the essence of this song. There's nothing musically wrong with what she is doing, but the beauty of this song lies in the sense of catharsis stemming from the combination of haunting lyrics and brighter melodies. It's the ultimate irony of showcasing all that is wrong with the world in such a simple, pop-like format in a major key, that makes this song so vital.
She has great talent, but if she wants to tackle this song in a respectful manner, I really feel like she needs to understand it first. | | |
