I would understand the relevance if it was about something that matters. Let's say that a journalist finds out about a corruption scandal...

Finding out that a band is reuniting before someone else did means nothing in my book. It would actually be better to let them make the announcement in their own terms...

Do you really not understand what comes with breaking a story like this? It doesn't matter what sort of medium you cover, breaking a big story like this is important and helpful.
