I feel like Fall Out Boy has never really had great closers. The only song that felt like a closer to me was Patron Saint.

The IOH closer definitely felt like a closer, and especially so coming after "You're Crashing".

Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes is the perfect song to have opened up this album. And earlier this week, some airhead tried to tell me that "detox just to retox" didn't make sense. Clearly that person is a moron and has no concept of words.

I've been asked numerous times what that means. Not to sound pretentious, but is it really that hard to figure out? Lol.

It's so weird to see people finally appreciating Folie now. That album came out in my senior year of high school and I was head over heels for it. Since we're playing favorites, I'll rank mine.

1. Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown On a Bad Bet (probably my favorite song of all time)
2. What a Catch, Donnie
3. Coffee's For Closers
4. West Coast Smoker
5. w.a.m.s.
6. I Don't Care
7. Disloyal Order of Water Buffaloes
8. 20 Dollar Nose Bleed
9. She's My Winona
10. 27
11. Tiffany Blews
12. The Shipped Gold Standard
13. America's Suitehearts

Love all of them, but America's Suitehearts definitely ranks on the bottom. I actually prefer to listen to the youtube video somebody posted where it's only all of Patrick's vocals. It's a good warm up haha.

i'm so happy "my songs" went gold. wasn't sure how well that'd really do as a single.

I hope the whole album goes at least gold. I think the single will go platinum in time.

I just relistened to FUCT this morning. Some really great tracks. But overall a sloppy record, I think.

What elements go into something being sloppy?

Just a lot of missed opportunities in the songwriting.

What about "Alone Together"? You've mentioned just about all of them besides that and "Young Volcanoes". Where do they stand?

Holy shit Young Volcanoes. I feel like anybody looking for anything close to Vintage FOB, here ya go. I get a Cork Tree vibe from this song.

I'm quickly growing on the song, but I don't hear this at all.

This was after like second listen and I was mistaken. Now I'm on my 10th and it's Folie to a tee with Cork Tree lyrics.

On first listen, I love Young Volcanoes - but something about those verses sounds like Trains "Hey, Soul Sister" and I'm mad at myself for ever making that connection because if I continue to think that way, it's going to ruin the entire song for me.

Still, I love this direction.

Damnit. Now it's stuck in my head.

That's like one of my least favorite songs of all time too.

I think this is why:

We're the therapists pumping through your speakers
Delivering just what you need
Well read and poised, we're the best boys
We're the chemists who've found the formula

We're the lifers here 'til the bitter end condemned from the start
Ashamed of the way the songs and the words own
The beating of our hearts

Similar use of "we are", which is ironic because it's from a song called Comeback of the Year. Well played guys. 3/3 for me.

There it is! What a crazy coincidence haha.

how has no one made a "raise you, like a penis" joke yet

Quality of the joke aside, I'm surprised as well.

Such a diverse album, this song is so fucking catchy - haha. Hate the chuckle line though.

Is this the only song of it's kind on the album?
