I agree with all of those, but there's some that would definitely make a list like that (maybe not Top 10, and certainly a bit alt-rock-centeric, but whatever)...

Rage Against the Machine - Bulls on Parade
Lit - My Own Worst Enemy
Green Day - When I Come Around
Foo Fighters - Monkey Wrench
311 - Down
Queens of the Stone Age - No One Knows
Coheed & Cambria - A Favor House Atlantic

Shocked Layla isn't on the list. Best guitar riff of all time IMO.

Also if we're talking about newer stuff, Seven Nation Army certainly deserves a mention.
The fact that Layla isn't on the list makes me think I should just discredit the list.

I mean, I get that they probably wanted diversity, and already had Cream with Sunshine of Your Love but at the same time. It's Layla. If you can have both Ozzy and Black Sabbath, you can have both Cream and Derek and the Dominoes.

Sugar We're Going Down has a riff? I love the song, but I don't know about that one.

Anyway, a few I haven't seen:

Van Halen- Panama
Guns n Roses- Sweet Child o Mine
MxPx - Move to Bremerton
Pearl Jam - Yellow Ledbetter
Incubus- Wish You Were Here
Black Crowes - Hard To Handle
Hoobastank- Crawling In The Dark
Weezer- Say It Ain't So
Stevie Ray Vaughan- Pride And Joy

Just a few off the top of my head.

Yeah but everyone knows they stole it from Vanilla Ice!

also its certainly recognizable, but the most? I think the article at least has the first one (smoke on the water) right there. I mean, Under Pressure isn't even the most recognizable Queen baseline.

When I submitted my reply I thought "fuck, I should've writen 'ice ice baby'" so I could get one of those "I see what u did there" replies. But genuinely curious as to what you feel is more recognizable.

Sweet child o mine is the most sorely missed thus far. Good call.

It's guitar, only an octave down with a pedal.
