1. How did you get your band name?
(Gav) We adopted the term after having seen it spray painted on the side of a Tank! We thought it was only natural...
The Term "Cry Havoc" comes from Shakespeare's "Julius Ceaser". The term refers to a military command used in the Middle Ages, as an order to pillage and wreak chaos - A metaphor for what we aim to achieve in our live shows and music.
2. How did this band get started?
(Tris) The band started a few years ago when me and the Gav met. We began writing, and then we sort of went round poaching the rest of the members.
3. What bands are you influenced by?
Between us, we have a pretty wide range. Everything from Punk, to Hardcore, to Hair Metal. The bands that unite us though are easily gonna be Pantera, Metallica, Guns N' Roses. A couple of modern bands to throw in as well would be Trivium, and Avenged Sevenfold
4. If you could tour with any bands, past or present, who would they be and why?
Loads - we get the feeling touring with Motley Crue in the 80ís would have been right up our street... After reading the Dirt, the girls, the drinking, and partying on one those tours would have been insane. There are some pretty wild stories about Ozzy too, so that would have been cool to tour with him in the day.
As far as present day bands go, Avenged Sevenfold I imagine would be a killer tour. Great venues, and great music.
5. Best food to eat on tour?
Nutrition is key on tour, because you donít want to burnout through bad dieting halfway through. We try to get our 5 a day, so Cider, for the Apples, Wine, for the Grapes, and Vodka for benefits of the Potato.
6. Why should people listen to your band?
Because we have some killer tunes, and deliver it with raw passion.
Check it out for yourselves if you donít believe us!
7. If you could be any athlete, which athlete would you switch places with?
Definitely Tiger Woods, he got to have a go on some of the best looking girls on the planet!
8. If you won a Grammy, who would you thank?
Every single person who has shown us support, advice, or any help whatsoever on our journey.
9. If you could change something about the music industry, what would it be?
The fact that getting yourself noticed and heard is so difficult these days, and itís even harder to get people to part with their money. At least the industry is beginning to adapt with great tools like Spotify, Vevo, iTunes etc. The focus has shifted from earning your crust thorugh CD sales, to live sales - How many people you can get to a show. This is good in a way, it means the only way to survive as a band is to put on a good live show. We like to think we do!
10. Memorable tour experience?
When we played Metal Hammer's Hammerfest, we went for the whole festival, and things got pretty wild.
We had an aftershow party at our chalet, which got pretty wild pretty quick. Within about half an hour of our friends turning up, you couldn't move for people. People just started turning up with booze, and wandering in. We had no idea who half of them were! We had Metallica blaring out our sound system, free flowing booze, and some girls in the bedrooms. It was like a scene from an American Party Film. Somebody managed to put a hole in the front door, rip out the back window, wrecked the carpet, kitchen utensils, and almost everything in this little chalet.
One of the beds ended up outside somehow! Ironically though, the TV survived. We totted up the list of damages which came to almost £800.
Fortunately for us, they were demolishing the park that year to renovate, so we got off.
11. What does AP.net mean to you?
Our core and roots are in, Punk. We try and keep the punk ethos alive in our shows, and play with conviction and belief in what weíre doing.
Itís re-affirming to know that although our music isnít punk as everyone knows it, we still get recognition from somewhere like AP.net
12. What is your favorite song to play?
Losing Everything. Check that song out on our EP! Itís a fast-paced, all-guns-blaring number, and always goes down well live!
13. What is your vacation spot of choice?
Iíd always love to hit up Las Vegas. We live in the SouthWest of England, surrounded by hills. Itís just seems like a fantasy playground.
14. What music reminds you of your childhood?
The Spice Girls... You couldnít move for that shit when I was a kid...
15. If you could have any super power, what would it be? Why?
Invisibility would be pretty cool. You could really mess with peopleís heads. Also itíd always be pretty cool to have the invisible man in your band, everyone would wonder why the hell the guitar was playing itself!
16. Any pre-show superstitions or rituals?
We just canít go onstage unless we have 1000 brown M&Mís in a brandy glass...
17. What is your assessment of the current state of radio? Do you think it's a place where your band could flourish?
I think radio is a little more diverse and open minded than it was say 10 or 20 years ago. We like to think we could hear our tracks on K!, or the Radio 1 Rock Show or something
18. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Go to gigs, clubs, drink the bar bar dry, and go home with some girls.
Sounds cliche, but thatís only because itís fun!
19. What kind of hidden talents do you have?
None, really. Thatís why weíre banking on this music thing working out.
