Thom Yorke Loves Earth

Posted by: Blake Solomon (03/24/08)
Thom Yorke has written an interesting article for the Guardian UK about his optimism regarding climate issues.
From the article With Radiohead, the most shocking yet obvious thing we discovered was that the way people travel to our shows has the biggest impact. So we now play in venues that are supported by public transport. We have a new lighting rig that is, hopefully, powered by super-efficient generators, and we've made deals with trucking companies to cut their emissions.

This means they need to change their Atlanta venue to a place much less shitty. Hifi has almost no public transportation, and is in the middle of fucking nowhere.

Good for them though.

this is awesome. i remember thinking Live Earth was dumb because everyone DROVE to the stadium or the show...awareness is good but huge events like that have a pretty huge cost in terms of car emissions. this is a step in the right direction- they should get a grease-run truck like mewithout you as well.
