I don't really understand prejudice against a particular instrument. To me, just like any other facet of music, anything can be effective if it's used well. It's sort of epitomized by the harmonica thing: if you don't care for Dylan's particular brand of ham-handed playing (which is somewhat understandable), there're still guys like Charlie Musselwhite, Little Walter, and hell, Stevie Wonder who play with genuine proficiency and make it sound like a million bucks.
This is actually a very fair comment. I like Stevie Wonder and Little Walter when they play harmonica. Something about the way Dylan does it, that makes it sound so grating and abrasive at times.
