Alt Press game it 2.5/5 and called it a "boring album".
Ugh.

Ah so good. Aside from She Lied To The FBI being my least favorite Trio opener on first listen, the rest is awesome. Kiss You To Death is my early favorite. Not letdown one bit.

will be interested to see how this holds up in 4 or 5 months. Every Alk3 record that has come out since FHTI/Good Mourning has people clammouring on its release. Everyone always loves a different song, but each album is recognized as being an improvement. I remember people saying how great Crimson was, how much growth there was in Agony & Irony, how This Addiction was a return to form, and now how this one is "the old trio".

This is not to knock it though, on my first listen i definitely love some songs and the overall feel of the album.

This is a fantastic Alkaline Trio record. Better than the last one and holds up with anything else they've done. That opener rules too. Can't wait to catch them on tour and hear some of these jams live.

This is so much better than the polished Agony & Irony and This Addiction tries too hard. Truly a return to form and the album that should have followed Crimson

I'm getting an old school vibe from this, loving it!

EDIT: I just wish Dan had more singing on it.

There is no Radio pt. 2. The closer maybe has similarities in the vibe, but lyrically it's nowhere near as creative.

It occurs to me that I've never seen the phrase "their best album since From Here To Infirmary" said. And I'm stoked to see how this holds up in the coming months, cause this is so, so good. Good Mourning lyrically may still be too good for this to pass though. But this is an inspired Trio album for sure.

Agree 100%. As much as i love alkaline trio, their last few albums have very little lasting value. I always wondered if it was because I overplayed them early on? But that never seems to be a problem for From Here to Infirmary...

I think he was stating a fact, not taking on their opinion.
