The black keys couldn't hold a flame to Dallas. And don't give me some bullshit about how much bigger they are than him, cause he's still far more talented than that band.
I don't hate this style from Dallas, and I simply overlook it because I'm certain it's just his creativity and style he wants to branch out with. When Fragile Bird came out I was very worried I wouldn't like Little Hell. Aside from maybe O Sister as well as Fragile Bird, I loved the entire album as much as the first two. This CD won't disappoint.
The only song I got into on first listen from Little Hell was "Fragile Bird." It took a bunch of listens for that album to really sit well with me. Unfortunately, I feel like I'm going to have the same issue with this album.
I don't dislike this direction, but it's hard to adjust considering Sometimes has set the standard by being in my top three albums of all time. It just feels like he's gradually becoming more inconsistent. I don't know. Whatever. Still looking forward to hearing the whole thing.
