Fall Out Boy's Save Rock and Roll is now on iTunes and available in stores today. Our review can be found here, and reports are coming in that the vinyl pre-order from the band has been arriving as a 2x10" on transparent red. The band will be donating proceeds from their Boston area show later this year to the victims of to today's tragedy.
as you guys all know we’ve been beyond excited for today to come and normally this would be a day of celebration with the release of our new album. in light of the events in Boston yesterday we’d like to send our thoughts and prayers to the victims and everyone affected. we’ll be donating the proceeds from our upcoming boston show from the fall tour at Tsongas arena to the victims. hopefully these songs will make some people feel better today. We are Americans, this affects us all.
Feels so odd to post about anything else at all yesterday ... worthless almost and still odd here so late at night ... but if there's anything that can make us all feel a little more connected and "normal" in light of the news today - I suppose music may just be it.
I'm not going to be posting anymore for the rest of the day/night, I need to take some time away to spend time with loved ones tonight. I'll be back tomorrow.
the last sentence of that statement is the only thing I've seen them use proper grammar on since their comeback. that stuck out to me for some reason. cool that they're donating the money from their Boston show!
Mine just shipped today. I'm so excited to get it. It's very tragic what happened today. For some reason, I always get kinda annoyed when anyone posts anything but love to the people affected by tragedies on the days they happen.
That is so decent of them to do. It's a small gesture that's going to mean a whole lot.
I think it's good to post about normal things after stuff like this happens; brings a sense of normalcy. While on a smaller scale, it reminds me of Giuliani on SNL after 9/11 basically telling everyone that it was okay to laugh. The simple stuff is important after things like this happen.
