I'd love to do this if only I could be guaranteed to be able to catch a few bands sets... or if I was able to go to one show as a audience member and one as a volunteer. There are just about 4 bands I really want to see on Warped this year
Maybe you can. But I'm not sure how you'd find that out without sounding like you're just gonna hang out haha.
From my experience working for labels and other tents at Warped Tour: you will get to see the bands you want to see. Maybe not ALL of them, but hey, it's a free way to get into Warped, you get the experience to work for a record label and get a glimpse of how Warped Tour works day by day. From what I've learned, it's mostly like "hey we need help putting up these fliers" or "will you man the merch tent for just 5 minutes while I go run an errand?" If you hustle and dont slack off, you'll have plenty of time to see bands you want to see.
Yes, thanks for the info. I might send an email and check it out.
I've done street team type work in the past and hung up posters, handed out flyers, etc... and have always been able to watch the show too, but it sounded like they were wanting someone committed to sit at the booth most of the day, which would be find as long as I get to see ABR, but maybe that could be worked out.
Oh I'm sure if it's just 2 or so bands it won't be a big deal. I'm sure there are people who are actually annoyingly demanding about it (wanting to see abcdefghi bands and are only at the booth for a couple of hours at a time).
edit: Yea, I can completely understand that they need someone who will be there when they say they will. I explained that I wouldn't commit to anything that I couldn't come through on, and I would really be okay with missing most of the bands except for like 2-3
