this song is SO good. i love the new direction theyre taking, i was worried after x&y that theyd be going more and more mainstrem, but this completely revives all faith in them. thank you, coldplay.

Really like the song. Verses sound a little like California by Phantom Planet, but besides that, It's mint.

Pretty good song, although it's worth mentioning that the song is titled "Violet Hill" not "Violent Hill"

Even for a first single this song isn't very good. Martin definitely hasn't gotten better lyrically and he's picked up where he left off on X&Y where every rhyme is weak and obvious. The music isn't very interesting either. Hopefully the rest of the album is better.

Really good song. I love the guitar work on it. Demonstarates how different they sound. Can't wait to hear more of Coldplay + Brian Eno.
