Futures is my favorite. for some reason, i just can't get into Clarity as much as the others. maybe it's because it was kinda sorta before my time. but either way, love these guys.

I think it's probably that and just personal preference.

Until high school, I always knew Jimmy Eat World as the "hi, we play really slow and pretty because we're wimpy" band, and I really liked them for that (Clarity.) Then they just kind of fully embodied the upbeat pop-rock thing. I liked Bleed American, but a lot of their lyrics almost seem of Disney Channel intelligence now.

makes sense. yeah i see what you're saying with the Disney Channel thing, lol. compared to a lot of lyricists out there, Jim doesn't seem to stand out. but i don't know what it is, i think they just have the perfect blend of songwriting and lyrics (i know those tow usually follow the other, lol). but he's still one of my favorite lyricists.

I should probably give the last two albums another chance. It was really only the song 'Work' that pissed me off. That has to be one of the most idiotic things I've heard ever.
