I think I just don't care for music videos anymore. I feel like I see a lot of video where the band is almost never in it and there is some story being told that has nothing to do with the song. I never like those videos and think a video focusing even on mostly the band playing would be better. And I was just kind of bored with the video.
BUT, it did help the song grow on me more. It was my second time hearing it and am more pumped to hear new JEW. I stopped watching the video halfway and switched tabs and just listened to the song.
This obviously isn't an excuse for J.E.W., but music video production isn't cheap which is why smaller bands tend to have trouble putting a really extensive music video together. They're not what they used to be because they aren't as big of a marketing tool as they used to be. Thats why it's easier to just film a live show and slap something together, 2 birds with one stone type deal... but yeah creativity in video's is basically dead.
