great hooks and dynamics, but still really typical emo pop for the first half
what really kills is if you're able to get past the first half, because the song keeps getting better
improved dynamics in the 2nd verse lead to a guitar riff in the bridge that sounds as if was stripped straight from Daft Punk's Discovery album (which is a great idea), only to lead into a bridge that literally uses vocoder sounds as if this was was "ft. Daft Punk". works really well though, to keep things exciting in such a trite genre
not quite sure about their decision though for the third chorus, as a near-classic guitar riff sweeps the song into a different time signature that sounds either like the beginning of MCR's "Welcome to the Black Parade" or the end of FOB's "The Takeover, the Break's Over".
hahah I did NOT plan on writing this much when I came in here
