As a long time of fan of Relient K, I do enjoy the album. Sure, it's not what I expected at all, but it's still some good music. The lyrics aren't the greatest, yes. But to be fair, most of them weren't even written by Thiessen alone as usual. There's a lot of electronic instrumentation which is unusual for Relient K, but it works. It's just a pop album, and if you look at it as that, and not as a follow up of Forget and Not Slow Down, it's not that bad. It's a complete 180 from FANSD and really shouldn't even be compared to it. I will say however, a lot of this album sounds better live. I was really looking forward to hearing the studio version of Boomerang because I loved the live version, but I was highly disappointed when I heard it. Same with Collapsible Lung. Sure, a lot of the general fans of RK and the fans who really loved FANSD won't like the album, but they can't please everyone. Was it worth the 4 year wait though? Probably not.
