Australian Music Round-UpNEWS

Sydney outfits Oslow and Ted Danson With Wolves are heading into the studio to record a split release. A date for the release is yet to be announced but the two bands will be playing a short run of shows in Melbourne around the recording of the split (dates below).

Trainwreck will release their debut album Fresh Air / Dead Lungs on July 24 through Broken Hive Records. The album was recorded earlier in the year at 3 Phase Studios, Melbourne, with Sam Johnson (A Death In The Family, House Vs Hurricane) and mastered in the States by Alan Douches. You can listen to a new track entitled Worn Out here and pre-order the album here. See the Tours section for the band’s upcoming dates in support of the release.

The Getaway Plan have parted ways with long-time bassist Dave Anderson and replaced him with Jase Clark. The band have also announced that they're now free agents after splitting with their label UNFD. You can pre-order the band's upcoming double a-side 7" Lovesick/Mirrors here.

Pre-order The Nation Blue’s 2001 debut A Blueprint For Modern Noise on 2LP vinyl complete with two unreleased tracks here. The reissue will be available August 26 via Poison City Records.

Lo! vocalist Jamie-Leigh Smith has announced he will be parting ways with the band to pursue other musical avenues. The band’s tour this month in support of new album Monstrorum Historia will be Smith’s last shows. No word yet on the possibility of a replacement.

The Butterfly Effect will be releasing a posthumous double-DVD documentary/live set combo entitled Effected on August 9. The release will compile the warts-and-all inside story of the band’s 12 year career leading up to the eventual departure of vocalist Clint Boge last year. Also featured is a six-camera shoot of the band’s last ever show at Melbourne’s Palace Theatre. Pre-orders are available here and you can watch the DVD trailer here.

Clowns have joined the Poison City Records roster. Their debut full-length I’m Not Right is set for release through the label on LP and CD in early October.

Dream Cave, the upcoming third album from Cloud Control, is available for pre-order here. The effort is set for an August 9 release.

Melbourne’s Angry Seas recently released a self-titled 7” debut through Broken Bones Music. You can listen to a track called Footprints here and buy a copy of the record here.

Perth’s Monuments have announced a launch show for their upcoming debut album Existence. The all-ages show will take place August 11 at YMCA HQ and the bill is rounded out by BLKOUT, Flowermouth, Truthseeker and Idle Eyes.

If I recall correctly, which I probably don't. The guy who replaced him was the touring guitarist, so he knew all the old songs anyway.

Don't quote me on that though.

Yes it's great. They deserve the same success that other Aussie bands are getting lately.

Yep. It's funny how often that Shontay girl is in their songs, is she like an unofficial member?
