Australian Music Round-UpNEWS

The inaugural Here & Now Festival will take place at Enigma Bar, Adelaide, on October 4. The bill for the all ages event features 50 Lions, Warbrain, Survival, Outsiders Code, Search And Destroy, Crisis Alert and Level. Tickets are available now.

Byron Bay’s Postblue and Perth’s Flowermouth will be collaborating on a split 7”. You can listen to a new Flowermouth track from the split entitled Tell Me here and Postblue’s previously uploaded track Kids Need Jesus here. The release is due in August with pre-orders available soon through Hindsight Records.

Grim Fandango will release their second album Flicker Noise on September 16 via Poison City Records. The album was recorded and mixed by James Balderston (Coerce, SXWZD) and mastered in the States by Carl Saff (Dinosaur Jr, Guided By Voices).

Adelaide’s She’s The Band have released a taste of their debut album One From The Top Shelf. Take a listen to the track Talk Shit here. Pre-orders for the album begin July 18 through Pee Records.

After a slight delay, the vinyl pressing of Fourteen Nights At Sea’s Great North is now available from Hobbledehoy Records. The LP is limited to 260 copies on 180g white vinyl and can be purchased here.

Magic Dirt vocalist/guitarist Adalita has released a track from her upcoming second solo album. Take a listen to All Day Venus here. Further details about the release are expected in the coming weeks.

Dead Letter Circus are offering fans on Facebook the chance to receive exclusive updates first about their new album The Catalyst Fire. Subscribing to The Inner Circle allows listeners to check out behind the scenes news, new tracks and videos as soon as they’re released. The album is slated for an August 9 release through UNFD.

Violent Soho will release their third album Hungry Ghost on September 6 through I Oh You. Listen to first single In The Aisle here and peruse pre-order bundles here.

The Decline, Scalphunter, The Bob Gordons and Silver Lizard have teamed up for a 7” entitled The WA Punk 4 Way. The release will be available from the bands at two launch shows later in the month at Perth’s Rosemount Hotel on July 26 and Bunbury’s Prince Of Wales Hotel on July 31.

Melbourne’s Aural Window will release their new EP Candlelight on July 30. Pre-orders are available here and you can view a trailer for the release here.

While in the country for Hits & Pits 2.0, The Ataris will play an additional show at Perth’s Amplifier Bar on November 24. Tickets are available here.

Perth hardcore band The Others have posted a new song online from their debut album. You can listen to Nowhere To Go here. The song comes from the forthcoming record Red Eyes which will be released in August by Shaman Records in Australia and Six Feet Under Records in the US. Pre-orders are available here.

Brisbane’s Release The Hounds have released their new 5-track EP This Town. You can stream the whole thing here and watch the band’s new video for 6 To Midnight here.


THE CHARTS

Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail was held at #2 on the ARIA album charts this week by The Voice winner Harrison Craig’s More Than A Dream which reclaimed the #1 position. Previous #1 Bliss N Eso’s Circus In The Sky sits at #3 after recording the highest first-week sales of the year last week. Elsewhere on debut, Josh Pyke’s fourth album The Beginning And The End Of Everything came in at #7 and Whitley’s comeback album Even The Stars Are A Mess arrived at #44.

The first bunch of acts for Warped Tour Australia were announced this week. The lineup features The Offspring, Parkway Drive, Simple Plan, New Found Glory, The Used, Hatebreed, Tonight Alive, The Summer Set, Kids In Glass Houses, We Came As Romans, Man Overboard, Crown The Empire, The Dangerous Summer, For All Those Sleeping, Veara, Anarbor, Mallory Knox and RDGLDGRN. H2O were also initially announced but this was later revealed to be an error and that the band were never actually confirmed. Tickets for the tour go on sale July 18 from vanswarpedtouraustralia.com.

This week saw the release of Josh Pyke’s new album The Beginning And The End Of Everything which debuted at #7 on the national charts. Check out the video for first single Leeward Side below which was directed by Beatrice Pegard-Ferry. The Beginning And The End Of Everything is out now through Ivy League Records.

man, warped tour announcement is disappointing. was basically keen for nfg and h2o but since h2o aren't actually playing, second announcement had better be pretty damn good before i consider going.
