Self-Promotion Spotlight: In Wrecks

Posted by - 07:10 AM on 07/14/13
This week on the Self Promotion Forum, I found the excellent In Wrecks, a post-hardcore four piece hailing from Glasgow. The band have just put out the wonderfully exhilarating Creation Myths EP, five tracks of high speed, massive sounding, 90s emo tinged post hardcore, via Struggletown Records. If you're a fan of Glassjaw crossed with Sunny Day Real Estate, you'll love these guys and their new EP is 'name your price' on their Bandcamp. "Glassjaw crossed with Sunny Day Real Estate" is pretty high praise haha

I'm listening to the stream on bandcamp though, and it's not far off. This is great stuff. Definitely going to download it.

This band doesn't sound like Glassjaw or Sunny Day Real Estate.

The absolute best description anyone is going to give is that it sounds like early 2000's era post hardcore in the style of Bear Vs. Shark. I hear a strong At The Drive-In influence as well. That being said, I do enjoy this EP. Good work dudes!

It sounds like the midpoint between them.

It is subjective but I didn't hear that at all. I don't hear elements of either band. I thought of Bear Vs. Shark right away and once I made that comparison I couldn't erase it. Thanks for the rad new band though.

Sick stuff, definitely downloading. And from Glasgow too, I've always wanted to live there!
