The production has no impact on the songs though... and the songs are killer.

They won't comment on poor production quality because they were behind that whole sound. The point was for the songs to sound more bombastic and raw, not crisp. Production quality is not about how crisp it is, it's about how it serves the songs

I always thought "Aalon" was pronounced like Allen. Huh. These are really awesome to hear, though. You can tell he's really one of those people who puts everything into his art.

I find it interesting how little Jason seems to comment on the religious imagery that is overwhelming at the end of the album. Not to say the commentary doesn't make sense, because it explains the reasoning behind it well, but for an album with that amount of references especially to Christianity it is surprising he doesn't outwardly mention it in the comments besides The Priest and Used Cars.
